Lamb sausages are state’s best

A Kyabram butcher’s shop has collected an award for the best lamb sausages in Victoria.

Fitzgerald’s Farm Fresh Meats has been crowned the lamb sausage king of Victoria by the Australian Meat and Industry Council.

Owner Joel Fitzgerald said the award was a welcome shock.

‘‘It was really great to have the recognition,’’ Mr Fitzgerald said.

‘‘And it did come as a bit of a surprise,’’ he said.

‘‘We won the regional finals and the state finals. The Australian title is announced in February, so we’ll see.

‘‘The winning combo was our grass-fed Australian lamb with roasted capsicum, sundried tomato, spinach and fetta.

‘‘All of our beef and lamb is grass-fed, we source it from our own farm.’’
